More than 130 prospective students and their families toured the Academy of Our Lady’s state-of-the-art campus, gained insight into the challenging college preparatory curriculum, learned more about the unique elective offerings, perused extracurricular displays, met current students and experienced the Salesian family spirit. Activities included creating an original Halloween song, making treats in the culinary lab, crafting Mary Mazzarello keychains, learning to apply stage makeup and performing a Halloween dance routine. More than 120 girls in 4th-7th grade took to Academy of Our Lady’s campus for Penguin Palooza on April 5. The night, filled with all things Academy of Our Lady, included a performance by the Academy of Our Lady Cheerleaders, a penguin keychain craft, a school-wide escape room, games with Student Council, donuts and Pizza! Girls in 4th-7th grade are invited to an evening filled with the arts and faith based activities hosted by Academy of Our Lady's Fine Arts and Religion departments on March 15. Activities include viewing a performance of Academy of Our Lady's production of Little Shop of Horrors, making dirt cake in the culinary lab, creating St. Therese sacrifice beads and so much more! Application Day for prospective students applying for the eighth and ninth grades will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Testing for high school placement will be conducted. Check-in begins at 7:15 am with testing starting at 8:00 am sharp. The Academy of Our Lady application for admission along with required documentation is due on this day. Girls in 4th-6th grade tested their knowledge of geography, social studies and showcased their athletic skills by attending Fantastic Friday Night on December 14. Hosted by the social studies and physical education departments, the evening consisted of traveling around the world to different sessions where students participated in various activities including an iPad scavenger hunt, geography based trivia, fun relays and so much more. Girls and boys in 4th-7th grade attended Fantastic Friday Night on October 12. The theme of the evening was Super Leadership Night. Sessions were planned by Academy of Our Lady’s Student Council and designed to teach students the fundamental characteristics of a leader. Students took part in various activities including planning a fundraising event, creating capes with descriptions of leadership skills, learning about past great leaders and harnessing the keys to good communication and listening. Academy of Our Lady's Student Council invites all girls and boys in 4th-7th grade to Super Leadership Night on October 12 at 6:30-9:00 pm! Students will participate in activities designed to identify and strengthen leadership skills. Ultimately, students will learn tools and key techniques essential to being a successful leader. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite superhero attire as there will be a best dressed contest! Registration for Fantastic Friday Night on October 12 is now closed. Students may register as a walk-in with a guardian at the door. The cost to attend is $5.00. Cash or check will be accpeted.
